Dragon Age: Inquisition. A Fresh Unbiased Look For Old Game

Dragon Age: Inquisition is still the biggest, most beautiful and most epic game of BioWare. Being a huge fan of fantasy RPG, I could not pass by it. It was completely MY game. I played it long and several times. The new game combined all the best that was in the old-school RPG and brought new elements to the genre.

General review

So, becoming a happy owner of the game I hurried to get acquainted with it. I do not want to try writing the detailed game review, but I will only try to present my impressions from several evenings spent playing it, call its pros and cons and answer the main questions that thrill the fans of the series.
The updated game has become better. Its original atmosphere, style, game spirit, dragons were saved. However, there I met with old characters. In general, the world is completely new and unique. The developers saved game mechanics, but greatly changed them. It is both simplified and complicated stuff. This RPG has become the game of the new time, but it did not disappoint me. Characters

The main character is completely new, like most of his companions. The game editor allows you to create its appearance yourself. There are a lot of settings; you can try to create a favorite idol or just his funny face. I would recommend being more attentive to the character and his team competently selecting the companions: this will facilitate the fighting.

Open world

The game world is very big and colorful. Its main disadvantage is that it is almost lifeless. It can be investigated, but it's not very interesting. The expanses of the large-scale world hide very few surprises for the player; there you can mostly find raw materials for crafting. Your movement in this world is limited by the need to get more points for getting to new locations. It's a little tiresome.

Crafting system

It is very simple and convenient. You can literally produce weapons and potions in one click. Self-made equipment is almost as good as the epic quest objects, and even better than them. Meanwhile you will not become richer selling this stuff — you will be given very low price for manual work. The economic balance in the game is built very competently and forces the player to distribute resources with intelligence and save the most necessary things. This makes the game for me just more interesting.

Stories and characters

The game is exciting due to its excellent stories and elaborated characters, without studying which it is difficult to completely immerse you into this fantastic world and evaluate the game story. There are a lot of texts, but reading stories is not boring at all.

The team and companions

The team and companions is something for which I really love the game. The player can take different characters to his team. All the heroes are original, with interesting stories and a unique set of abilities and characteristics. It is curious to study them, to learn their motives. As you get to know them, you get used to them and start even understanding these guys. You can flirt and fall in love. Each player is free to pick the characters he likes more, but you must not forget that the team should be united.

Combat system

All the fights have become more dynamic. Complex battles require now special tactics — weighing your forces and correct actions. Simple battles with weak opponents are carried out in real time without any problems. Characters here do not die, and “wake up” immediately after the end of the battle. There is no health regeneration. The stock of medicinal potions is limited. This encourages the player using protective spells and skills. The players that like high speed game will not enjoy it, but I was glad meeting this option.

Quests

Besides long general missions, the game has various tasks from the category of quests. Sometimes they seemed to me boring and unnecessary, but they make it easier to get the necessary points for coming to new locations. The main thing is not to try to pass them all. Sometimes these quests start unexpectedly and lead to long trips.
The game is also long. Be prepared to spend a couple of months in its world (playing 2-3 hours a day a 2 times a week). Often a player has to make a choice. You can rely on the norms of morality or on personal sympathy. There is no strict division into “black and white” in the game. From the experience of playing, I can assume that these decisions do not affect the game and the story itself much. However, the feeling of participation in other people's lives makes the game more realistic.

Interface and management

Both are familiar and simple. Everything you need fits on the screen. Unimportant stuff can be easily obtained in the game menu. I would recommend you not to use the old video card for the game as the picture will be not so bright. I would say that the game optimization is decent, and its management is simple.
